Balanced Attack, Strong Start Power Wallace State Past Mississippi Delta 13-5
DECATUR, Miss. — Wallace State delivered a complete performance on both sides of the ball Saturday, using a big middle innings surge and strong pitching to secure a 13-5 victory over Mississippi Delta Community College at East Central Community College.
The Lions set the tone early and never let up, scoring one run in the first before erupting for four runs in both the third and fourth innings to take firm control. Wallace State continued to apply pressure late, finishing with 13 runs on 18 hits in one of its most productive offensive outings of the season.
Israel Navarro led the charge at the plate with a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs. Clint Seymore added four hits and drove in a run, while Cooper Clemmons contributed two hits and two RBIs. Aiden Boileau chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and Dyris Martinez also recorded a multi-hit game.
Tucker Rickman provided a spark off the bench with a home run and two RBIs, and Will Clark added a hit and an RBI as Wallace State received contributions throughout the lineup.
On the mound, Ryan Everly turned in a strong outing to earn the win, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out seven and not issuing a walk. Colton Parten followed in relief, working one inning to close out the victory.
Despite Mississippi Delta tallying 10 hits, Wallace State limited damage in key situations while maintaining steady offensive pressure throughout the game.
The Lions' combination of timely hitting, depth in the lineup, and effective pitching proved to be the difference as they secured a convincing win on the road.
