Kenzie Wilson is a sophomore middle blocker from Northport, Alabama, and a 2025 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. Wilson began playing volleyball in the seventh grade and continued developing into a college-level player throughout her high school career.

One of her favorite high school athletic memories came during her senior season, when Tuscaloosa County swept its rival in front of the home crowd. The victory was especially meaningful because Wilson was able to celebrate it with her teammates and supporters.

Wilson chose Wallace State because it allowed her to remain close to home while joining a program with an atmosphere that immediately appealed to her.

“I liked that Wallace State was still close to home, and I really liked the atmosphere,” Wilson said.

She credits her mother with having the greatest impact on her athletic journey. Her mother’s support and encouragement have helped Wilson reach the college level and continue pursuing her goals.

Wilson’s proudest moment as a Wallace State athlete so far was helping the Lions sweep a highly competitive opponent during their home tournament.

College athletics has taught Wilson the importance of prioritizing personal well-being.

“It is very important to put yourself and your health first,” Wilson said.

Wilson’s favorite professional volleyball player is Erik Shoji, a libero known for his enthusiasm and energy on the court.

“I just love his energy,” Wilson said.

Outside volleyball, Wilson enjoys reading.

As a returning sophomore, Wilson has an opportunity to bring experience and leadership to the Wallace State lineup. She hopes to continue growing as a player while helping the Lions maintain the competitive atmosphere and winning tradition that attracted her to the program.
