Ansley Chandler is a freshman defensive specialist from Hartselle, Alabama, and a 2026 graduate of Hartselle High School. Chandler began playing volleyball in 2021 and developed a strong appreciation for the relationships and teamwork that come with the sport.

Her favorite high school athletic memories are the bonds she formed with her teammates. Those relationships made her volleyball experience meaningful and taught her the importance of trusting and supporting the people around her.

“The bonds I made with my teammates are what I will remember most,” Chandler said.

Chandler chose Wallace State because of the program’s intensity and coaching. She believes the competitive environment will challenge her and help her continue improving as a player.

“I liked the intensity and coaching because they ensure players will better themselves,” Chandler said.

She credits Coach Kayla Prather with having the greatest impact on her athletic journey. Prather believed in Chandler’s abilities and potential at a time when others may not have recognized what she could accomplish.

“Coach Kayla Prather saw more in me than anyone else had before,” Chandler said.

As she begins her freshman season, Chandler looks forward to developing as a defensive specialist, building relationships with her new teammates and contributing to Wallace State’s winning tradition. She hopes the program’s demanding and competitive environment will help her grow both on and off the court.
