Bio

Sophomore Kameron Sanders plays a pivotal role for Wallace State as a combo guard, bringing both scoring ability and defensive toughness to the Lions. A native of Birmingham and graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School, Sanders has been playing basketball since the age of five. Her proudest moment so far came when she scored 1,000 career points, a milestone that showcased her consistency and work ethic.

Sanders chose Wallace State because “it felt like home and the standard is high,” and she has thrived under the leadership of head coach Joseph Simmons. One of her top highlights with the Lions was beating Shelton State for the conference championship, a moment that solidified the team’s chemistry and drive.

Known for her enthusiastic, goofy, and motivating personality, Sanders prepares for games by listening to gospel music, saying a prayer, and taking deep breaths to stay focused. Her favorite drills are defensive sets, where she embraces the challenge of competing at a high level.

She looks up to Paige Bueckers for her perseverance through injuries and aspires to improve her individual stats while helping Wallace State make it back to nationals. Off the court, Sanders enjoys listening to music, spending time with teammates, and plans to pursue her doctorate degree while staying connected to athletics.
