Bio

Sophomore Jada Peterson directs the floor for Wallace State as a calm and composed point guard. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, and graduate of Kell High School, Peterson began playing basketball at age 12 and quickly developed into a championship-level competitor. One of her proudest accomplishments was winning a state championship, a memory that continues to fuel her drive.

Peterson transferred to Wallace State from Wabash Valley College, drawn to the Lions for their strong culture and winning tradition. She credits her father as the biggest influence on her journey, both on and off the court, instilling discipline and focus that she leans on daily.

Her favorite drill is five-minute shooting, where she sharpens her skills under pressure. She prepares for games by praying and listening to “Work Out” by J. Cole, using the time to settle in and visualize success. Known for being calm and observant, Peterson embraces her leadership role while staying focused on her goals: staying healthy, growing as a player, and helping Wallace State make a push toward nationals.

Off the court, she enjoys getting her nails done and hopes to build a career helping people with mental health. Peterson wants to be remembered as both a great student and a great teammate, offering this advice to younger athletes: “Trust your work.”
