Wallace State Men’s Soccer Rolls Past Calhoun, 6-0

DECATUR, Ala. – Wallace State men's soccer turned in a dominant performance on Saturday night, cruising to a 6-0 conference victory over Calhoun at the Jack Allen Recreational Complex.

The Lions were sharp from start to finish, executing with precision in the attacking third while also showing a renewed commitment to team defending. The result not only extended their strong start to conference play but also marked their first clean sheet in league action this season.

Freshman forward Sammy Schofield stole the show, recording a hat-trick to lead the Lions' attack. His finishing touch, combined with service from teammates, gave Wallace State multiple options in front of the goal. Harper Jones delivered one of the highlights of the night, providing a pinpoint assist on one of Schofield's goals.

In addition, midfielder Javier Miranda added to the scoring with a stunning strike, bending a free kick past the Calhoun wall and into the net. Miranda's set-piece effort and overall play in midfield set the tone for Wallace State's attacking rhythm.

While the offensive fireworks drew headlines, head coach James Fee praised the team's defensive effort just as much. "The game went very well," Fee said. "The boys executed at an extremely high level in front of goal, but I was most impressed by our willingness to defend and keep our first conference clean sheet."

The comprehensive team effort saw contributions across the board, with every line of the formation stepping up to maintain balance and control.

With the win, Wallace State improves to 6-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in ACCC play, keeping them among the league's frontrunners.
