Wallace State Soccer Falls to Union University in Exhibition Match

HANCEVILLE, AL – Wallace State men's soccer dropped a 4-0 exhibition contest to NCAA Division II Union University, but head coach James Fee saw plenty of positives from his team's performance.

"Despite the loss, the team put in a very good performance," Fee said. "We just conceded three goals off set pieces and missed our chances when we had them."

Union capitalized on its set-piece opportunities to build its lead, while the Lions generated several attacking chances but couldn't find the finishing touch.

Among the standouts for Wallace State were brothers Kaisei and Shishio Abram, who impressed with their effort and playmaking throughout the match. Wilson Nichols earned his first start of the season and turned in a solid performance in goal.

Fee also highlighted the impact of attackers Yaya Jawneh and Javier Miranda, who were "dynamic and created many opportunities" despite not finding the net.

The Lions will look to build on the experience and continue with regular-season play, as Fee noted the exhibition provided valuable lessons against strong competition.

Wallace State (1-1) will travel to Georgia Military College on Sept. 3rd. They will return home for three straight games starting Sept. 9th against Itawamba Community College.
