TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Wallace State capped a strong week at the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship with a third-place team finish Friday at Ol' Colony Golf Course while freshman Mallory Brooks claimed the individual national championship after a two-hole playoff.

The Lady Lions finished third overall at +164, trailing only national champion Shelton State (+121) and runner-up Murray State (Okla.) (+133). Southern Union placed fourth at +189, followed by Jefferson State at +191.

Brooks delivered one of the top rounds of the tournament on Friday, shooting a 1-under-par round to finish tied for first at +16 overall. Her final-round performance marked only the second under-par round recorded during the championship. Brooks then secured the national title in a two-hole playoff.

Alyssa Warren also finished strong for Wallace State, placing tied for 12th overall. Jazmin Conn finished tied for 24th, while Shea Kelley placed tied for 42nd. Maggie Chastain finished 82nd overall.

Wallace State entered the final day tied for third before holding its position to secure a podium finish at the national tournament.
