Bio
Freshman Maggie Chastain began her golf journey during her freshman year of high school, and the sport quickly became a passion of hers. One of her favorite early memories was playing golf with her best friend, a reminder of the joy the game brings beyond competition.
Chastain chose Wallace State because she felt she had the potential to grow as a player under Coach Adams and alongside her teammates. Her parents have been her most significant influence, supporting her throughout her career. Known for being fun and outgoing, Maggie has a quirky superstition of wearing the same socks for every tournament. Her pre-round routine includes listening to music—especially “Yeah!” by Usher—and staying calm by not overthinking.
Off the course, she enjoys hunting, fishing, going to the lake, and playing pickleball. She’s also proud to be an aunt to her precious baby niece or nephew, which she considers one of her favorite roles.
Looking ahead, Chastain hopes to earn a good job after college and be remembered as someone friendly to everyone. Her advice to younger athletes is impactful but straightforward: “Stay on top of your school work.”
