Bio

Sophomore shooting guard Devan Rush brings confidence and scoring ability to Wallace State’s basketball program. A graduate of Milton High School (2023), Rush first picked up a basketball at just seven years old. His favorite early memory was the opportunity to play in Hawaii, an experience that cemented his love for the game.

Before Wallace, Rush competed at USC Salkehatchie, gaining valuable collegiate experience. Drawn by the Wallace coaching staff and the culture they built, he knew Hanceville was the right place to continue his career. He credits his family for their guidance and support throughout his journey.

Rush believes in the importance of consistency, often reminding himself to “keep the main thing the main thing.” That mindset carries into the classroom, where he works hard to find time for academics around the demands of basketball. His goals this season are clear: help the Lions become conference champions and make a run in the national tournament.

Known as a chill and focused player, Rush prepares for games by listening to NBA YoungBoy and mentally locking in. Off the court, he enjoys cooking, a skill he takes pride in. Looking ahead, he aspires to play in the NBA while continuing to grow as a leader and the best version of himself.
