Lady Lions Rolls to 10-0 with Dominant Dismantling of Copiah-Lincoln
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State Lady Lions tennis team kept its unblemished record intact Friday, dispatching Copiah-Lincoln Community College (MS) 7-2 in a home dual match at Wallace State Community College. Behind a balanced attack across doubles and singles courts, the Lady Lions improved to a perfect 10-0 on the season, continuing one of the program's strongest starts in recent memory.
Wallace State seized early momentum by capturing all three doubles courts. The tandem of Madison Standifer and Indira Wilson posted an 8-6 victory on Court 1, while Jaedyn Martin and Lydia Lichlyter won 8-5 on Court 2 and Jayden Johnson and Savanna Privett closed out the doubles round with a commanding 8-3 win on Court 3.
Singles proved equally decisive for Wallace State, which won four of six courts. Standifer defaulted to Ruri Takeuchi on Court 1. Jaedyn Martin followed on Court 2 with a 6-3, 6-3 performance against Domenica Gruezo, setting a confident tone through the middle of the lineup. Wilson added a 6-2, 6-4 decision on Court 3. Lichlyter won 6-0, 6-1 on Court 4, while Jayden Johnson won 6-4, 6-4 on Court 5. Privett fell in three sets 6-3, 7-4, 10-7 on Court 6.
