Lady Lions tennis goes on road to defeat Bevill
JASPER, Ala. – The No. 12 Wallace State women's tennis team earned a 7-2 road victory over Bevill State, turning in a strong performance across doubles and singles play. The Lady Lions controlled the match early and maintained that momentum throughout to secure the win.
Wallace State claimed the doubles point by winning two of three courts, then followed with five victories in singles action to seal the team result.
Six Lady Lions contributed to the win, led by Madison Standifer, Jaedyn Martin, and Indira Wilson, who each earned victories in both doubles and singles competition. Lydia Lichlyter and Jayden Johnson also added singles wins to help the Lady Lions pull away.
Standifer and Wilson opened doubles play with an 8-2 win over Jasmine Rivera and Ella Thrasher on the top court. Martin and Lichlyter followed with a dominant 8-0 victory on court two over Oriana Roldan and Lila Oliver. Bevill State picked up its lone doubles win on court three.
In singles play, Standifer led the way with a 6-1, 6-1 victory on court one. Martin followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court two, while Wilson added a 6-4, 6-2 victory on court three. Lichlyter delivered a dominant 6-0, 6-0 result on court four, and Johnson secured a 6-1, 6-2 win on court five.
Bevill State's final point came on court six, where Lila Oliver defeated Savanna Privett.
