Lady Lions Slam Snead State 8-1
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State women's tennis team opened its weekend in dominant fashion, earning an 8-1 home victory over Snead State on Friday in Hanceville. Wallace State (4-0) secured its fourth consecutive win of the season with a commanding performance, sweeping doubles play before winning five of six singles matches to seal the victory.
Six Lady Lions registered wins on the day, led by Jaeden Martin and Indira Wilson, who were victorious in both doubles and singles competition. Lydia Lichlyter and Elizabeth Standifer also contributed strong performances, each earning wins in singles while teaming up for a doubles victory. The duo of Jayden Johnson and Savannah Privett rounded out the doubles sweep with a hard-fought win from the third court.
Martin and Wilson opened doubles play with a dominant 8-1 victory over Hannah Mastin and Emma Greer on the top court. Lichlyter and Standifer followed with an 8-2 win from court two over Kailyn Boman and Libby Talton. Johnson and Privett completed the sweep with a 9-7 victory over Cyra Burks and Aubrey Sipsey.
Martin continued her strong play in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Burks from court one. Wilson followed with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mastin on court two. Lichlyter added another point with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Greer, while Standifer defeated Boman 6-1, 6-0. Johnson secured Wallace State's fifth singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Talton.
Snead State's lone point came on court six, where Aleece Hollis defeated Privett 6-0, 6-4.
