#12 Lady Lions blank Coastal Alabama North 9-0
MILLBROOK, Ala. – The No. 12 Wallace State women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Feb. 10, sweeping Coastal Alabama North 9-0 at 17 Springs in Millbrook. Wallace State continued its strong start to the season with a complete team effort, controlling play from the outset and improving its record with another convincing victory.
The Lady Lions set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the doubles point. Wallace State carried that momentum into singles play, winning every court contested while also picking up two additional points by default to complete the shutout.
Six Lady Lions contributed to the win, led by Jaedyn Martin and Indira Wilson, who each earned victories in both doubles and singles competition. Lydia Lichlyter and Jayden Johnson also added wins across both formats, helping the Lady Lions maintain control throughout the match.
Martin and Wilson opened doubles play with an 8-2 win from the top court. Johnson and Lichlyter followed with a strong 8-1 victory on court two. Wallace State completed the doubles sweep with a default win on court three.
Martin led off singles play with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court one. Wilson followed with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory on court two. Lichlyter added a 6-1, 6-4 win from court three, while Johnson earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory on court four. The Lady Lions secured additional points by default on courts five and six to complete the sweep.
