Bio

Freshman Kellyn Cox brings passion, positivity, and faith to the Wallace State women’s golf program. A native of Trussville, Cox began playing competitively in the 8th grade and quickly discovered how the sport allowed her to both challenge herself and inspire others. One of her proudest aspects of competing is the opportunity to share her light for Christ on the course.

Cox chose Wallace State because of its welcoming atmosphere and the dedication she observed from coaches and teammates, immediately realizing it was the right fit. She credits her parents for their constant support and encouragement in her journey. Her first practice as a Lady Lion was a success, setting the tone for her freshman season.

Her goals include finishing in the top three on the team, being a positive influence on her teammates, and eventually transferring to continue her golf career. She prepares for competition through prayer, keeping her mindset sharp by snapping her fingers after a bad shot to stay focused.

Off the course, Cox enjoys painting, bowling, and fitness workouts, such as running and burpees. Inspired by Scottie Scheffler’s faith and motivation, she plans to one day own her own business and help underprivileged children experience the joy of golf. She hopes to be remembered as a positive teammate with unwavering faith who never lets anyone dull her sparkle.
