Wallace State Women’s Golf Advances to NJCAA Golf Championship
OXFORD, AL | The Wallace State Women's Golf team competed in the NJCAA South District Tournament at Cider Ridge Golf Club last week. The Lions finished the tournament in fourth place. Their finish earned them a spot in the National Tournament, May 13-16.
"We are looking forward to the National Championship in Iowa," Coach JJ Adams said. "We are ranked sixth heading into the tournament, so I am excited to see what we can do."
Wallace State shot a 358 in the opening round and 343 in the second round. They finished behind tournament champion Shelton State, Snead State, and Jefferson State.
Mallory Brooks led Wallace by shooting 76 and 75 for 151 (+7). She finished third overall and was named to the South District All-Tournament Team. Alyssa Warren finished 15th overall after shooting a 175, finishing as the second-highest Wallace State golfer.
"Mallory has had a fantastic freshman year so far," Adams said. "I look for that to continue in the National Championship."
Other team members include Lanie Cornelius, Jacie Blackwood, and Natalie Mason.

The sixth-ranked Lions will travel to Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone, IA, for the NJCAA DII Women's Golf Championship May 13-16.
