Freshman golfer Clark Vandiver from Fayette County discovered his love for golf in 2020 and has already built lasting memories in the game. Among his favorites are the nights spent with his high school teammates before the State Championship, enjoying the bond and camaraderie that made the sport so special.

Clark chose Wallace State because of its beautiful campus, top-notch equipment, and resources, which he believes will help him grow as both an athlete and a student. He credits his parents for providing him with the opportunity to pursue golf, knowing the sport requires sacrifice and commitment.

What Clark values most about Wallace so far is the inclusive team environment, where everyone feels welcome and supported. He has learned early that success won’t always come easily, but perseverance through challenges is what builds growth. His goals include ranking inside the top 20 nationally, both individually and as part of the Lions team.

On the course, he sharpens his skills with his favorite T-line drill for putting, always taking a moment to pray before teeing off. Off the course, Vandiver enjoys card and board games, while also holding two state championships in high jump and the 4x200 relay. Inspired by Scottie Scheffler’s character and composure, Clark hopes to be remembered as a winner who never gave up and advises younger athletes: “Don’t give up. Keep pushing.”
