Bio
Sophomore golfer Tristan Tidemann from Chanhassen, Minnesota, began playing golf in 2016 and quickly developed a passion for the game. One of his proudest moments came when he helped his team win their conference championship, an achievement that solidified his drive to compete at a higher level.
Tristan chose Wallace State because of the program’s strong reputation and tradition of success. He credits his father as his most significant influence, who has shaped not only his golf game but also his approach to competition and preparation. Since arriving at Wallace, he has successfully balanced being a student-athlete, recognizing that the experience is both enjoyable and challenging, while also teaching him valuable time management skills.
His goals this season include winning tournaments and ultimately helping the Lions qualify for the national tournament. In training, he enjoys working on strength through squats, while mentally preparing by staying calm and always being prepared. His favorite pump-up song is “Thunderstruck”, and he models his mindset after Tiger Woods, whose dominance and competitiveness inspire him.
Away from the course, Tristan enjoys hockey and fishing, and he hopes to one day pursue a career in professional golf. He wants to be remembered as a great golfer who worked hard and encourages younger athletes to “Work hard and stay committed.”
