Freshman golfer Eli Proctor from Lawrence County began competing in 2021 and quickly found his stride on the course. One of his proudest memories came his freshman year of high school, when he and his cousin helped their team reach the state tournament. That experience fueled his love for the game and set the tone for his future.

Eli chose Wallace State for its coaching, facilities, and opportunities, and he’s proud to now represent the Lions in both athletics and academics. He credits his parents for their constant support and guidance.

He has already learned that hard work truly pays off, both on the golf course and in life. His personal and team goals are to grow as athletes and as individuals, with a focus on improving daily by taking one shot at a time. His pre-round routine includes listening to “Fake Love” by Elevation Rhythm, which helps him stay calm and centered.

Known for his outgoing personality, Proctor enjoys talking and connecting with others, both on and off the course. Away from golf, he enjoys welding and fabricating, skills he hopes to turn into a business of his own in the future. Inspired by Scottie Scheffler’s humility, Eli hopes to be remembered as someone who represented Wallace State well in both athletics and academics. His advice to young athletes is simple: “You can never practice too much.”
