Bio

Sophomore point guard Hayden Shedrick brings leadership, confidence, and a competitive edge to Wallace State men’s basketball. A Phenix City native and Smiths Station graduate, Shedrick started playing basketball at just five years old, and one of his favorite memories came when he dropped 25 points against a rival school.

Shedrick chose Wallace State because he trusted Coach Key’s vision and believed it was the best place for his growth and development as a player and student-athlete. Supported by his family back home, he’s already experienced the thrill of winning a conference championship and hoisting the trophy, a moment that fuels his drive to do it again.

He approaches the game with a mindset of remaining both humble and confident, keeping his focus on what matters most. Shedrick’s gameday routine includes taking a shower to reset, listening to “Shock Da World” by Rod Wave, and reflecting on the hard work that brought him here.

Off the court, Shedrick enjoys bowling, grilling, and even rewatching Harry Potter. He admires LeBron James for his ability to overcome doubt and prove people wrong. His long-term goal is to play professional basketball while also giving back to his community.
