Wallace State Opens Flag Football Era with Dominant Sweep of Snead State

CULLMAN – Wallace State women's flag football made history on Sunday afternoon, and they did it in emphatic fashion. The Lions, playing their first-ever games in program history, rolled to a pair of shutout wins over Snead State at Cullman High School's Woodard Stadium, winning 49-0 in the opener and 24-0 in the second game.

Game One: Defense Sets the Tone

The Lions' defense wasted no time showing they would be the story of the inaugural game. Wallace State forced three interceptions, three turnovers on downs, and three punts while holding Snead State to just 43 total yards. Ma'Kyla Williams and Carly Paschal each recorded sacks, with Paschal's coming in the end zone for a safety.

Quarterback Emma Kile led a high-powered offense that compiled 281 yards. The freshman finished 21-of-28 for 256 yards, tossing six touchdown passes while overcoming a single interception. Wallace's explosive attack quickly put the game out of reach as the defense continued to dominate.

Game Two: Same Result, Different Tempo

Snead State slowed the pace in the second game in an effort to limit Wallace State's possessions. Still, the Lions found ways to control the game on both sides of the ball. Kile once again led the offense, going 19-of-27 for 178 yards and three touchdowns as Wallace finished with 207 total yards.

Defensively, Wallace State continued its shutout streak, holding the Parsons to 100 yards of total offense. Williams added two more sacks, while the Lions' secondary contributed with a pick-six in the first half to keep momentum firmly on their side.

A Historic Beginning

Head coach Daniel Howard praised his team's effort and embraced the moment.

"This was a historic moment for Wallace State," Howard said. "Starting off with two wins to open the program feels amazing. We are going to celebrate this special occasion, but get back to work tomorrow. We have some things that we need to work on, but I am pleased by the team's performance and effort today."

With the sweep, Wallace State not only introduced a new program to the Alabama Community College Conference but also set a high standard for the future—two games, two shutouts, and a pair of convincing wins to begin a new era of Lions athletics.
